Born on the 24th of August, 1999.

Dorothea is a writer and director working across film and commercials. She obtained her Bachelor from the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London. She also pursued film studies in Denmark at École de Leth, where she had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed filmmakers Lars von Trier, Jørgen Leth, and Thomas Vinterberg. In 2021, Sing Zhang directed BàBà, her final film at École de Leth, a short documentary that premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Festival du Nouveau Cinéma in Quebec. In 2024, she wrote and directed Masterpiece Mommy, a short musical film starring Leah Dou that made its world premiere in competition at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. In addition to her film work, Dorothea has contributed photography for various publications, such as Vogue, Dazed, NOWNESS, among others. Dorothea has worked with some of the world's most exciting brands, including Prada to Hermès. She released her debut monograph, Like Someone Alive, in 2023 published by Art Paper Editions which received coverage from publications including Wallpaper*, National Geographic, Photograph Magazine, Numéro, and more.
